Last year, I wore green on St. Patrick’s Day. When commended for showing support for the Green occasion, I denied the very intention of very green and said it was a mere coincidence. It really was. It was a pure coincidence that I wore green that day. But really. Was it?
One year has passed and I can confidently conclude that it was no coincidence. Let me tell you where the disconnect happened:
One month before St. Patrick’s Day, I made up my mind that when it is March 17th (St. Patrick’s Day), I will wear green. Somewhere along the line, before March 17th occurred, I lost a portion of that thought and I only remembered the “I will wear green on March 17th” portion. Subsequently, I acted on it by wearing green. On March 17th when my friend sarcastically questioned my intentions for wearing green, I truly had no explanation. I said: its just a pure coincidence!
Next time you try to conclude that something was a coincidence, think again. You never know what key piece of information you may have dropped along the way. Analyze your habits. Remember, chance plays no part in God’s plans.
