Hide and Seek: Thrill. Fear. Joy.

I was playing hide and seek with 3 little kids the other day. I thoroughly enjoyed it because of the thrill that is induced when the seeker is steps away from you, but can’t see you. I was wondering why I enjoyed the game so much. I am so much bigger than those 30 kg kids; it was so easy for them to find me. Even then. The way the heart beats when the seeker walks right by you, and you want to laugh because they missed you, but you hold it and then change your hiding spot. Well. Something so pleasant is not worth thinking so strategically about. It was fun.  Everything came back to life, from counting 1-20 while facing the wall to screaming ‘ready or not, here I come’.
