To me, the mere fact that someone is an expert and has ‘so’ many years of experience does not justify their actions. Experts can be wrong. I categorize myself as a risk-taker. Yes. It is true that often my decisions may not be as informed as they should be. But really, there is a risk associated with ‘not taking a risk’ and sometimes if you know too much, then fear starts to build inside of you.
I respect people’s opinions, but very few can persuade me to believe something. First I learn the rules, then I bend them. If an expert ever tells me that something cannot be done (and I think it can), I will respectfully listen to them, then leave the room and then try doing exactly what they told me not to do. Sure, call me a rebel.
Always listen to the experts. They’ll tell you what can’t be done and why. Then do it.
